And still no mention of availability in the UK... If it isn't announced soon I'll just get a steamOS and stick it on a laptop instead.

You know that market for portable gaming, like Nintendo DS range and Sony PSP - well this is to compete with them - and then some more

actually, love the idea of Shield. as my main desk top PC is far to heavy to move or to far to connect to my Home Theatre System.

Only down side so far is that using the usb as ethernet for 1080p gaming is that the system will only be running on batteries. meaning a very restricted play time.

Nvidia should have added a external power supply port to it can charge and play for as the user likes.

Yeah but isn't it just playing games designed for mobiles and tablets that you can already play on your mobiles/tablet?
The merit of streaming pc games somehwere in your house to it are questionable, if it's so you're in the same room as the wife watching eastenders you're there but not really there cause you're gaming so might aswell just play on the proper pc with keyboard and mouse.

    All my opinion of course...

Re: News - Nvidia SHIELD update allows 1080p game streaming at 60fps

I bought mine mainly to play the emulators for other games. Have you every tried playing Super Mario 64 with a touchscreen control stick? it doesn't work too good. Buying a controller makes it a moot point but I personally like it. I don't do game streaming very often, due to the awkward setup of internet at my house, but it has it's appeal.
