Waited until the last day of the Christmas sales on Steam to get the best deals, those morons DDOS'd the steam servers or whatever and I couldn't purchase anything nor access account services. Sucks. Thanks to the anti-social emos from derp, /golfclap.

Are you sure it was a DDoS attack? Maybe the Christmas sales attracted so many customers that they overwhelmed Valve's servers.

It's been claimed as a DDoS attack, apparently hit Origin too, although I don't think anyone would have noticed that.

It was because Valve gave away L4D2 for free and the servers were overloaded by people trying to get the free game.
