LED headlights doesn't sound at all pleasant for people driving the other way. Xenon lamps are bad enough!
I would imagine systems like this should be quite flexible though. Compared to one huge bulb, it should be much easier to have granular and angular control. If you could have more power for empty, unlit roads that would be handy - although I've never driven a xenon lamp car to compare. My traditional bulbs aren't great.
Had a car go through an MOT and they put a bulb in wrong way round...got stopped and said to the copper - was MOT'd yesterday...he went yeah right..pulled out MOT certificate etc. and he said waste of space garage...lol
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
Why all this technology in cars? A car is for getting from A to B and nothing else. People are easily distracted now let alone having things to fanny around with on a rear view mirror. It's bad enough dodging people using or texting aon a mobile phone without even more to distract them!!
I just ordered a new BMW X5... naturally I researched all the tech etc. The adaptive LED headlight feature is nothing short of incredible. Even in fullbeam it detects oncoming traffic and tilts its own headlight away from the oncoming driver but also dynamically "masks" out its own headlight, as the oncoming car get closer.
I assmume Merc/Audi have something similar but great to see this technology is constantly evolving.
Holy rear view mirror,Batman!!
