It's not surprising the high street will suffer what with Game charging at least £5 more instore than what the same game costs to buy online from their website.

From that article I took it that it's was only in console games and consoles. Big money but I bet the PC gaming industry would make a lot more.
Console games always have and always will be over priced.
Some people would say the console games are over priced because of piracy. I don't see much evidence of piracy in my life, certainly not as much as what I did when the PS1 was out. But would they (GAME, HMV, etc) lower the prices if people stopped the piracy, probably not. However a lot of the games companies that actually program the game should get the majority of the profit I think.
