"Bog brush holder", that made me LOL.

But seriously, I have conflicting emotions about this computer. On the one hand it's amazing how much raw power you can put into such a small system; on the other hand there's about zero upgradability, not counting memory. It's a moot point anyway, since I'd never pay that much for a computer.

Sorry to disillusion you but the NSA already got there - try getting some info on "SELinux" - so "their" patches have been in the kernel for more than a decade.

Although I fail to see the relevance to AMP availability.

Is it just me or are these not the prettiest design?

This is pathetic, and I'm sure that it's because of the core thermal solution they have employed. This product shouldn't even come to market they have to go back to the old format which looks cool!

NSA did develop (or contribute to the development) of SE linux as a multi-level secure system, and it is open source, so the code is open to peer review.

As for the original topic, I wouldn't say it was 'pretty', but in a top end system, I would expect form to follow function.

It may be that thunderbolt peripherals are the way ahead, and it is ahead of its time, but that doesn't seem a particularly good way to go to me.

But then, what do I know? I thought the original plastic iMac was as ugly as an ugly thing from Uglyville, yet it sold in thousands and reversed Apples then declining fortunes.

And that didn't have a (then mandatory) floppy drive, but did have the (then) revolutionary USB port.
