    Close: it will run on ABS etc. but will also come with a spectroscope-type thing (at great expense, all passed on to the consumer) which can check each length of filament for quality...

    That is, make sure it was made by HP and costs ten times as much. Ink worth it's weight in gold applied to plastics.
