What they win on more bass they lose on lack of stereo and added bulkyness. Might suit someone somewhere, but I can't imagine who. If you remotely care about sound you won't be using integrated speakers no matter what brand.
And its about time we gave up with putting VGA connections on monitors, come on stick a dvi on it instead!
My monitor base has a swiss army knife and eye drops on it at the moment, anyway.. if this were a 27" model i'd be interested, because I could then ditch the bookshelf speakers which sit either side of my current 22" display.
AOC do seem to knock out some pretty good value for money screens these days, keep it up I say.
Why do monitor companies bother with inbuilt speakers they just waste space and add to the price and are never that good.
Also I always use a headset and if I wanted to have sound be heard by other people I would buy some external speakers.
They have been making high end separates for decades,ie,Integra series and their predecessors going back to the 60s and 70s(which I have listened to BTW). The UK has tended to not get much of the high end stuff they make, but it does not mean they are a budget brand. Some of their work was even done with NHK,which is the Japanese equivalent of the BBC.
In fact here is a little history behind them:

Indeed, Onkyo make some pretty decent amplifiers (if you like cold analytical japanese sound), their speakers aren't all that special though as they're usually just mid-range rebadges IIRC.
Don't get me wrong fellas, I'm well aware of who & what Onkyo are. I've previously owned one of their stereo amps and currently have an 818 AV amp. However I'd still rate them in the budget class albeit decent sounding and great value for money.
i managed to buy the e2752Vq ,and i hate these integrated speakers, they have like 1w at 20% THD
but the monitor itself is sweet and responsive
Maybe you might have a point about their speakers from the last 20 years or so,but Japanese speakers have never been rated that well here,so its a moot point.
However, the Integra and its predecessors were far from budget, You are talking serious money here. I should know I listened to some of their high end stereo stuff from the 70s,80s and early 90s. They were no where near budget - they were frikkin expensive. You are talking around Sony ES level and above. It was hard to get here due to cost, and people rather wanting to buy home grown high end stuff over Japanese imports.
Just because you get "budget" stuff over here, don't think they are budget. The best Sony stuff is the same, its hard to get here. Its like with their AV equipment, there is a reason they get all the multi-channel and THX certs first.
Look at a British company like Tannoy. Most people think it is a budget brand for the last decade or so,not like PMC or something.
However, what people did not realise that while Tannoy was selling mostly budget stuff here, they were selling super high end stuff like the Churchill series until a few years ago to the Far East and they often were silly money like over $10000. They looked like furniture and had massive dual concentric drivers, and were an iteration of designs from the 50s.
Not at all popular here, and you could rarely find much articles in the UK press talking about them, let alone sellers.
