Firefox seems very bloated now and personally I have many issues that I am living with :
- Try to play a Youtube video and I can't visit other webpages
- Sometimes no pages load and I have to restart Firefox

I found Chrome more bloated than firefox, and uses more RAM as well, not to mention that it adds (without permission)programs to start on bootup.

I do have to agree with the hate of the chrome-ish UI look though, but I do think that Firefox needed a UI refresh.

Never had issues with firefox and youtube though

that table up top was always going to be poor for firefox, we can't exactly say there's a high number of people using firefox mobile browsers.

Having said that I use palemoon, which is basically firefox without the chrome look, purely because I don't want to use chrome. I don't like it's UI and mozilla literally ignored users and changed the design to be a chrome rip off... it will likely look dated soon when chrome gets a material design updates....

If palemoon stops I'll likely go to opera over chrome lol

There is an add-on, called something like ClassicMode (original, huh? ) that more or less dumps the garbage that the Firefox team seem to think was a UI improvement.

I can't remember exactly what it was called, and I'm on an Android version right now) but it did turn that revolting new UI back into something sensible.

That said, I'm currently auditing the market for a new default browser, because I'm getting REALLY fed up with FF both requiring new version updates every 30 nanoseconds (or it feels like that anyway) and their obvious rank ignorance of the ages-old philosophy of not fixing what ain't broke.

Firefox USED to be, IMHO, head and shoulders the best out there, followed closely by Opera. So, as a long-term Firefox user, I can certainly understand why market share is dropping, and not only market share (which might be due to increasing market size) but I understand long-term users getting increasingly pee'd off, because I sure am.

Which gives me a problem. What to use?

I will not, EVER, use a Chrome variant from Google. These nosy bleeps suck enough personal data as it is without me handing it to them on a platter. Gift-wrapped. Tied with a pretty little pink-ribbon bow. But one of the privacy-invading neutered versions like, allegedly, the Comodo variant (Dragon something??) .... maybe. I'm looking at the option now. Or maybe just a full-time switch to Opera, though I admit to never really being that keen. Firefox has got me seriously condidering it, though.

But I'm sick to the brim of the "improvements" Firefox keep making.

What a way to take a great product and fiddle with it until you ruin what made it great. It's got so much useless bloat I could almost suspect Symantec had bought it, because they did that to several of my old stand-bys years ago. Will developers never learn? Still, I suppose they've got to do something to keep them busy, and heaven forfend that they couid develop new useful tools, rather than forever monkeying with existing ones that were pretty much fine. Oh, no, that'd be too much like actual work.

..except that the "real" (Presto based) Opera has been dead for well over a year. Current Opera versions are just a rebadged Chromium fork lacking most of the features that distinguished Opera from the other browsers.

I use Palemoon on my windows machines and Firefox on my Android devices. I must account for the 2 mobile devices using Firefox.

Switched from Chrome on everything several months ago due to privacy concerns.

Like Saracen I have given up on FF. It is still on my machines just in case but with stability issues, never ending updates that do not add anything I just cannot be bothered. Unlike Saracen I am happy to use Chrome, although for some reason I cannot get a home page icon on the tablet (mobile chrome) which is a real irritant.

I know, I don't have an issue with the underlying webkit/blink code, I just don't like the way chrome looks and works, opera isn't as bad and is pretty similar to the old firefox layout

I have sort of, palemoon is based off this with some updates/improvements by the dev to fix 'missed issues' and it retains support for all of the firefox add ons

Shame because Chrome has been poor past couple of years. And yet I still use it.
