I'd just like to advise any visiting Samsung executives to slash the prices of WQHD monitors. I'm sure they'd sell like hot cakes. Wink. Wink.

blames the competition... has nothing to do with the fact that you keep leaking the 'next premium galaxy' phone or that your old phone isn't really any different to the current ones...and then there's touchwiz, does anyone actually like touchwiz, pretty much everyone else except htc has picked up that we don't like heavy skins on our phones lol

Agreed. However, at least HTC's sense is mostly aesthetic with some small added bonuses. Unlike Samsung's GimmickWiz interface. Seriously. I have 3 friends who own GS4/5's and they have turned off pretty much everything they can.

Roll on Android Silver though... (if it turns out to be what people think it is)

    Here's why

Samsung S5 = £529.99 (UK) and is not much different to last years S4 model

Lg G3 =£484.99 (UK) and is alot more different that the G2 and also better spec than S5

Samsung need to wake up and realise the competition has caught up and is just as good and cheaper.

+1 on this, although all the reviews I've seen are pretty complimentary about the Sense 6 setup - and from what I've seen, yes, it's not anywhere near as annoying as the version on the OneS and OneX. Crucial difference between it and the latest TouchWiz spin though is that Sense is very fast, (and I'm saying that as someone who was previously a fan of TW).

+1 on this also - I was looking for a replacement for my S3 recently - mainly because it's getting slower and slower, plus that camera really annoys me (and has done since day 1). S5 would have been the obvious choice but it's expensive, ugly and laden with Samsung's "value add" which (imho) make it LESS valuable.

Just returned from a week's holidays toting my S3 replacement - one LG G3. And I've got to say that I've had no issue to cause me to regret the choice (although I might once the bill comes in). Like LSG501 says, LG realised that folks want a stock experience with the rough edges knocked off, and that's pretty much what they delivered. Yes, there's "innovation" but for the most part it's not stuff that "gets in your face" other than perhaps that unnecessarily high res screen.

So, if I'm a typical customer, then perhaps that's why Samsung's profits have fallen?

Career status: still enjoying my new career in DevOps, but it's keeping me busy...
