Silent Power calls this the 'Heat Buffer'
Does that mean the diagram is wrong? and the prices don't seem right.
I wonder how the heat capacity of the heatsink reduces as it fills with dust. Such a convoluted shape is going to be nigh impossible to clean, even with compressed air.
Hang it upside down!
Pretty sure you can wash it, just like the filter on a bagless vaccum cleaner
I used my 4770k ,default turbo boost -water cooled ,no pump connected for 2 weeks ,hit 100degrees max without even a notice,i guess that one will work.
Capacitors have a lifetime based on hours/temp maybe the modern processor circuitry doesnt depend so much on it.
The prices (€1,159 = £916.68) do seem ok to me heres what I got £1162.85(+£11.50 delivery) from scan for about the same spec, I used an i7 790K CPU as they don't have the CPU is shown here:
16GB (2x8GB) Corsair DDR3 Vengeance Pro Series Silver, PC3-17066 (2133) £124.99
2GB Gigabyte GTX 760, 28nm, PCIe 3.0 (x16), 6008MHz GDDR5, GPU 1085MHz, Boost 1150MHz £179.71
1TB Samsung 840 EVO Basic SSD £315.41
Silverstone RVZ01 Raven Matte Black Mini ITX Case, w/o PSU (SFX) £62.41
Gigabyte GA-Z97N-WIFI, Intel Z97 £92.36
Intel Core i7 4790K CPU + Corsair H80i Cooler Bundle £322.38
650W EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G1 £65.58
This article. Dejavu?
Did they forget what an insulator traditionally is? A large collection of air pockets trapped in a medium.
This looks to be a terrible idea even with high powered airflow

This is bunny and friends. He is fed up waiting for everyone to help him out, and decided to help himself instead!
Would it be totally unacceptable for me to unofficially rename this beauty?
I see it as a Copper Afro PC, or CuFro PC
When they use that name... be aware I want dough for it!

I'm sure I've got one of those under my sink; it usually comes out to scrubs pots!

It looks like some kind of alien plant pot...
I'm not sure if hot air from inside the copper foam will find it easy to "flow" out - but then I'm perfectly happy to be proven wrong, it's a novel idea at least.
If this works really well, I wonder if this will show up in CPU heatsinks?
