    So then - what do you think about the claims from some corners that DDR4 might be a short-lived generation, or even the last DDR memory type we'll ever see? Is it even worth getting into X99 and DDR4, or will it be replaced too quickly by an MRAM/RRAM/PCM-supporting motherboard family?

    I don't get why DDR4 has heatspreaders, isn't one of the advances that it runs at a lower voltage so produces less heat ?
    Are they just for the bling factor or are they actually helping them bump up the voltage for the higher speeds.

    Purely aesthetic these days, certainly ones like this.

    It's useful for people that are hamfisted as the chips are not exposed.
