With this Dell monitor I could almost display a complete picture from my cheapo 14Mega pixel in it's entirety.
Camera Samsung 4288x3216
Dell monitor 5120x2880
But not quite!
The Ultrasharp moniker makes it sound like it's an IPS-style panel......
Interesting, although not for gaming with that resolution

Showing signs that 4k Monitors are going to become more mainstream now
And hopefully that means they'll reduce in price

Are we finally seeing some real progress in monitor technology? We've been stuck on 1080p for far too long (hell, we even regressed from 1920x1200 that was the standard for a while).
This uses two DVI 1.2 ports to push the required number of pixels at 60Hz. Seems like a hack akin to early 4K monitors only supporting 30Hz.
Think this will require another update to Windows! Otherwise a magnifying glass!
I think my eyes will need an upgrade.
I disagree.
I hate to say that, but there is no progress at all.
5K is ok, but i dont realy care. The reason is simple - panel.
The density of pixels arent bigger than it was done before and if view angles sux it is just waste of money.
There is no information about the panel, so i guess it will be IPS or TN.
Now i want to buy two nice big monitors and i would not think of this even if the prize was half.
I am waiting for OLED to come into mainstream but still there is no sound about that.
In 2008 they already new the technology but no one into using it (somthing already started on the TV market but computer one is still waiting for its time...) and the technology itself is much better than LCD one in every aspect.
If an OLED monitor of similar prize and size - the resolution 2k is more than enough for me - then i would consider spending 2k$ for an screen.
Guess the waiting is all i can do...
