It's pretty neat - effectively applying the stuff they had for greenlight into the main store. Much easier now to set up some curators and have games flagged to you that most of your curators recommend (eg RockPaperShotgun+PCGamer)

Yes I know its there, but it used to be right on the product page, not having to go through several menus to get to it, it used to be to the right and a lot easier to find.

However when viewing a game in your library it is still to the right where it used to be.

Hope there's an opt-out somewhere, hate this kind of "smart" feature which relies on invasive information gathering. Admittedly Steam already does that with their stupid trading cards feature and game time statistics but really want to resist any feature creep

I must admit I do like it in some ways but not others, I mean recommendations because I looked at something :/

Haven't looked into this update much but some of the customization features look pretty cool.

They've had recommendations for ages, that's not a new thing.

As far as I can gather, the main change here is that you can choose what comes on the store screen. So if you don't want to see software, opt out of it - I wouldn't call that invasive.

Xbox live and PS online will be dead within a few years if steam keeps developing like it is!
