Honestly, the name makes it sound like they've misspelled "Protégé" and not realised it, or intentionally misspelled it thinking that it would be a good name.

I can imagine the brainstorming meeting when they thought of that name

$500 for a keyboard dock and stylus? What are they smoking?

Portege is an old Toshiba brand IIRC.

I see your point, I hadn't been aware of that.

I still don't like the name though.

I remember (very dimly) some Toshiba rep saying that it was some kind of allusion to "Portable" or "Portage". Maybe just a mis-spelling like the Starion car got saddled with (at least according to urban legend).

Good to see that the Z20t looks to have a secondary battery in it's keyboard dock. From experience with the original Asus Transformer, I really can't see why Microsoft et al insist on only doing power-sucking basic keyboard docks. Having the battery in the keyboard dock gives it a bit of heft, which is great from the usability point of view.

M$ did announced a keyboard dock with battery back with the Pro 2 but I don't know if it ever happened. As I mentioned in the t300 thread I loved my TF101 and the battery in the dock was awesome. Kept the screen from flipping the keyboard and charged the tablet while it was in your bag.

Enough with these widescreen, glossy tablets. People never learn.
