There prices are a bit backwards, boxed game is cheaper than the download version. Not a good pricing strategy.

Definitely. I don't know how they expect to push the digital sales on consoles like this.. I can buy a new game on the Ps4 store for £55-£60 for the standard version (more money for other versions of course), with absolutely no ability to sell the game on afterwards to get some of the money back, or even just to lend it to a friend. Yet I can buy the boxed copy for £35-£40, which I can lend to a friend, then sell on after I'm done with it and get around half the money back. Where's the incentive to buy digital games on console.... They need to figue that one out. Mesmerizes me how they haven't yet..
For me it boils to convenience. For most people, shopping on release day (by that I mean Monday or Friday) often means then you have to make a special trip to a city/town centre branch. In contrast I can walk or drive to any number of supermarkets which are open later, sell cheaper and as a result are simply more convenient. That's all providing I actually want to purchase a physical copy.
As a PC gamer, i find that these shops rarely have the titles I'm looking for when/if I'm passing and all retailers need to learn than unless you stock exactly what the shopper wants at the time they want it, then they can and will buy it at home to get delivered to them.
Buying games from a physical shop? What a quaint idea.
I wonder how many of those new reward customers will ever use their card ever again. Customer loyalty is a thing of the past, price and convenience trumps all.
As for digital downloads, they are for the impatient (pending fast broadband) and the lazy.
At least Game are in the black.
Why does downloading a game make you impatient and lazy? Majority of people here buy games on Steam etc which requires a download.

can someone please explain to me how a company that went bust with 100's of millions of debt, can then become a new company and then lose another half a BILLION of value?
I whole heartedly disagree with this statement Keith. Digital downloads are a great convenience and time saver. I don't have to worry about swapping discs, storing the damn things or be worried about scratches.
My digital purchases are for life, not just until I lose or damage them. I am sure I speak for many digital downloaders when I say I spend quite some time shopping around for the best deals, (i.e. not lazy) and I am more often than not waiting for a game I want to go on sale somewhere (i.e. not impatient).
Exactly, and for where I live I have never seen PC games for sale, not even seen a games shop for that matter and the super markets only have a few PS3 & 3DS games at best. However its not exactly a time saver for me as the average BB speed here is 3-4Mb with a max of 5Mb.

Game are clueless and this was on the cards from day one.
They have lost company value (stock price x number of shares sold) it's not a trading loss as the article says they were in net profit and predict they will maintain that for the year. A big improvement on a few years ago.
The stock market is a fickle thing driven by analysts that pick numbers out of thin air half the time.
A company could make record breaking profits, but if it's less than an analyst that has nothing to do with the company suggested to investors then they'll take a stock price hit.
With regards to my earlier comments that seem to have caused offence ... I was commenting in reference to the earlier rant about digital copies for consoles being more expensive than physical copies and less useful. The microsoft / sony stoes rarely have sales, they are also the only digital store so you cant shop around, a new £45 game is usually £60 on there.
Consoles also have limited storage space for downloads you'll soon have to start deleting games in order to play new ones etc.
PC wise all my games in the last 5+ years or so have been downloads, mostly steam but sometimes they can be expensive compared to the publisher direct.
