    Same here. Once it's a 3D, 120Hz, 360° enclosed bubble I'm in too. :-D

I must confess I think I am warming to the idea now. I guess that is less desk space than a pair of 24" monitors and most people certainly don't have the desk space for a 3 monitor setup to avoid getting cross hairs where the monitors join. So basically, a poor man's 3 screen setup but in some ways more aggro free.

I was reading a review the other day (can't link, was on my phone sorry) where they said they couldn't get an AMD card to work *at all* with an Nvidia G-sync monitor. Now I can understand the G-sync feature not working, but if it fails to perform as a standard monitor any more then that would be end of story for G-sync for me. Anyone tried it?

A display is a display in the end, gsync would be an 'added value addon', so I would have thought it would work at least .

DanceswithUnix,if you could link that review sometime I should think some would be interested

Gsync is more than an addon though, you always seem to lose all but the one gsync displayport interface on the monitor. Example:

    Full HD monitor: http://www.ebuyer.com/655859-acer-pr...r-um-hb0ee-005
    Gsync version: http://www.ebuyer.com/655862-acer-pr...r-um-hb0ee-a01

So you pay £98 extra, and for that you gain g-sync and you lose hdmi, dvi, vga and the speakers.
But if the remaining DP connector isn't really DP any more then that is really bad.

Sorry, I did look on my phone but the page wasn't still open so couldn't find it. Was just something that Google Now suggested might be of interest so I can't even say "I was searching for this when I found it".

Shame it's still 1080p, despite being wider. 1440p would have sold it.

Agreed. I'm not sold with these 1080p WideR screens which you CAN get a full 2560x1440p screen for a similar price.

Though, maybe, not of these dimensions.

Stumbled across it again, the reviewer had to abandon using a g-sync monitor for this review:

    http://www.pcworld.com/article/28971...ds.html?page=2

An interesting side-note: The R9 290X refused to play nice on the G-Sync monitor, flickering constantly. A 4K Dell UltraSharp was called in as cavalry.
(It was actually a throw away comment in http://www.pcworld.com/article/28976...as-g-sync.html that I originally saw)

Now that could be the fault of the monitor, it could be the fault of the 290. Would be nice for someone we trust (like Hexus) would do a bit of a plug fest. If your £300 Nvidia card dies and you have to fall back to Intel integrated graphics or some old 6770 card you have spare, would be nice to know if it would work. Us mortals don't have the hardware handy to try such things
