Something I am struggling to get excited about......hell, I cannot even think of a good reason to do it outside of some very expensive and specialised data centre kit.

Sure I read some news about a future generation of intel CPUs which made reference to non-volatile RAM support: presumably this is what that was referring to. Interesting idea, although it's hard to work out exactly how it'll play out in practice....
Not entirely opposed to this, if you're in the situation where you have all the RAM you need but still have slots spare I can see these potentially being useful depending on the pricing. I for one still do not own an SSD, if these things ended up cheaper than full SSDs I might consider it for sake of keeping the case as cable free as possible but otherwise I can't see much use other than having as many drives in the case as humanly possible.
Yaaaay, wait, you need to replace every year?
seriously with the huge amounts of writes to RAM, i cannot imagine how much it will stand before wearing out.
So extremely small HTPC?? Lol
With Pikey spec 2U servers now able to hold 24 DIMMS for 3/4TB RAM I can see certain applications for this.
