Really ? I thought that DX12 would take some of the pressure off the CPU, and share video resources across the systrem thereby allowing either higher performance or being able to play on older kit.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

I think instead of taking pressure off the CPU some developers are using the extra CPU power available to do more stuff that wouldn't have performed as well if they were doing it on DX11.

Shame its not a vulkan game tbh.

Those recommended specs look very steep.. Hopefully there'll be a rush of download codes on eBay from people who have bought the XB1 version but don't have a beefy gaming PC.

It should increase the load on CPU since you can now use threads more effectively. That said, if it runs on XB1, it shouldn't require anything too major on the CPU front.

    Fixed that for you

Edit to add: Actually the minimum requirements seem fairly sane. How old is the FX6300 now? And the 260X is no spring chicken and very cheap by modern graphics card standards.

I can't see Microsoft making a Vulkan game any time soon, though from some of the accusations that DX12 is just a crude cut & paste of Mantle with the error codes ignored you would wonder if a DX12 to Vulkan API conversion would make an easier job for Wine game emulation in future. That would be nice.

760 is leaps above 260x (in some games 760 has 2-3 times more fps than 260x) yet they are on same page there, so unless developer has written bull#### specs, then nvidia has their work cut out since this would be 2nd? dx12 title to have poor performance on their cards.

Agreed, not sure where they got that from. However those requirements are on the Remedy site.

Interesting point, I hadn't seen how far apart those cards usually are. From looking at the benchmarks, the 260X seems far better as a compute engine just half as good at rendering stuff. Perhaps this game makes heavy use of compute shaders?

How bizarre they recommend a Fury at same time as 6gb vram. If they can't understand the tech for the requirements then I fear for how bug-free the game is!

Is there an AMD equivalent to a Haswell i7 @ 4Ghz? (until Zen gets here)

Depends for what workload really. High end FX8000 series can come fairly close in some things.
