Looks exactly the same as web whatsapp. Not totally sure what the advantage is

You can now more easily backup messages on your own computer, and it's more convenient to send messages (you save time by no longer needing to log in online). It's no different to say Skype, Evernote, or Messages in that you can use those applications via your browser, but it's far simpler to just install an app.

Soon whatsAPP will not need a phone number but just an email address like facebook....
Just like the telegram app, that's also free and not owned by a company has rights to your online life/photos etc.
Works on Windows 7 too
When did bookface purchase WhatsApp O.o
I also have a preference for LINE. One of the very noticeable difference is that by default I only see my contact's phone number in WhatsApp and I need to go and give them a name. Whereas with LINE, you do not see their number (which has the added benefit of being able to keep your number only to the people you want), but rather the name/nickname they had to pick for themselves (and you can still modify if it is not obvious). Too bad that it's largely unheard of outside Asia though. And actually, I think that some of the Chinese speaking countries also have their own applications. One thing I noticed is that regardless of what app it is, the default skins are often similar.
