Nope - if you look closely the port bracket has two mounting screws, so this will be two slots. Also, above the DVI port I can see two HDMI/DP ports below the usual row of ventilation holes typical of a two slot design.

I wish they would hurry up and get these released, I need to know pricing before deciding on either a GTX970, a custom board 1060 or custom board RX480. Was hoping that everything would land before birthday on Sunday!!

No obvious top-mounted PEG connectors. Maybe they're using the reference board layout and taking advantage of the free-mounted PEG connector to position it at the rear of the card?

Looking at the back of a dual slot card I thought I could see how you could still have space for a row of vents above the HDMI/DP ports in a single slot, but you're right, the two mounting screws is the giveaway.

Afraid so. The last single slot card of any reasonable performance I can think of was the launch Radeon HD 4850 - that had a claimed 110W TDP, a single slot blower cooler, and was hot and VERY loud. The cooler was replaced fairly quickly by a two-slot flower design that was quieter and kept the GPU cooler, and I don't think we've seen a single slot cooler on a cards that wasn't entirely bus-powered since. Indeed, many bus powered cards get big dual-slot coolers nowadays just because companies are worried about looking cheap. It's hugely frustrating.

All looking pretty chunky, don't seem to be aiming for the lower end of the market.

I do not know why everybody is rushing to buy a card now, there will much more in month or two, better version and probably cheaper.
So why rush people?

Looking at the low TDP estimates, it would be nice if they released some shorter cards. Most of these cards are pretty big considering how small the reference PCB *could* be.

Nvidia has emailed HEXUS with the following pricing information:
"The GeForce GTX 1060 Founders Edition will only be available in the UK, Germany and France at the NVIDIA online stores. The Founders Edition will be available in Germany and France for Euro 319 (incl. VAT) and the UK £275 (incl. VAT)."
It also sent the following "Starting MSRP" table for custom GTX 1060 boards:

and in the real world - all etailers are pricing the 1070/1080 at at least the FE prices and upwards

and they are selling , so you can bet they wont change for the 1060 - so it`ll be £300 and upwards

I still reckon that's because most board partners will want to spec their cards much higher than the minimal MRSP would allow. I'm pretty sure nvidia has determined a very low engineering specification that will technically run the cards, but to implement it you'd need to use low-grade power delivery, thinner PCBs, worse cooling - essentially you'd be scraping the budget, and for a £400 card that just doesn't make sense. I think it's very telling that nvidia themselves have decided they can't/won't build a card down to that budget...

I suppose with the GTX 1060 aiming at a lower section of the market there might be some mileage in being cheaper, but I can't see any partner wanting to be seen as the "cheap" option for nvidia graphics...

EDIT: incidentally, there are now GTX 1080s trickling through at below FE pricing - ebuyer have a couple at < £600 whilst the FE is still £619...

Too big, and too expensive. Think this is another generation that's going to pass me by!
