Re: Sapphire NITRO+ RX 480 launched

"Sapphire will ship its NITRO+ RX 480 cards before the end of July. The 4GB and 8GB versions have already been on pre-order at Overclockers UK for a while – albeit with an incorrect GPU boost clock listed for the 8GB version (at the time of writing)."

Looks right to me - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sapph...gx-37b-sp.html

Don't forget there is an OC and a regular model.

So 2.75% boost clock OC for 4.1% price increase? not sure thats really worth it, unless they are binning the + and it OC's much better.

Its a totally different PCB and cooler and does not throttle like the reference one!

Re: Sapphire NITRO+ RX 480 launched

I spoke to overclockers today (Friday 22/07/16 at 5.20pm). They have 259 customers who have pre-ordered the Sapphire nitro OC. Out of the 259 units, I ordered 2 of them. The custom model RX480's are a MASSIVE success due to amazing price and amazing performance.

Dunno - I tend to buy the cheapest models I can get away with anyway.

Yes, but you don't get 2 pcbs and 2 coolers, they've been replaced.

It just goes to show that Both AMDs and Nvidias plan is working perfectly. Starve the GPU sector until it is stagnant, then people will gladly overpay for the tech we should have had a year ago

I'm pretty sure that's not a thing. Where are you reading that there is a Nitro and a Nitro+ version? It's only Nitro +, check the Sapphire site.

There's no such thing as a 480 Nitro OC.

    Overclockers are selling both a Nitro+ (1306Mhz):
    https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sapph...gx-37c-sp.html

    And a Nitro+ OC (1342Mhz):
    https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sapph...gx-37b-sp.html

The former looks like a 4GB Nitro+ unlocked to 8GB, though the description still states 1342 so who knows.

This variant of the RX 480 looks very promising, current front runner for my new and first self-build.
