AMD provides more information about Zen at Hot Chips 28

Zen improvements come from better core, better cache system, lower power.

Will be interesting to see what the high end desktop chips are like, might be worth grabbing over one of the i7-E chips in a new machine next year.

All really comes down to price/performance, can they roughly match the i7-E's and keep the prices down?

AMD does have a good track record on this. So fingers crossed it'll be the case.

AMD needs to roll out this ASAP.
This is time sensitive and might as well be my first all AMD powered build.

It would be great to see AMD back to being competative.
