EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC Gaming

Small yet nippy, just the way GTX 1060 ought to be?

I'm putting together a 4670k system for the Mrs at the moment. Was going to drop in an R9 270X that I've got sitting around, but this looks ideal. And it's EVGA.

Bit odd to miss the 980 from the charts? Is this on purpose?

Nope, GTX 980 makes a reappearance in the upcoming GTX 1060 3GB review. We changed the benchmarks mid-suite, plus the GTX 980 had bit of a hissy fit. All solved now.

You KNOW it's time for a new GPU when your current one drops off the charts.

If this card was priced closer to current 960 levels, I'd instantly get it, but for now, it's a bit too pricey for me though I do however love the small size of the card, and that it still has a DVI slot.

Always love the '60 and '70 gtx cards. They offer such great value for money.

Not only value but size, noise, temps etc...they just seem to hit that sweet spot for me.

Re: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC Gaming

It's funny how a few weeks can change your opinion..... seeing the pound drop against the dollar this past week made me think that things could be much more expensive in a few months, and I thought back to this review. So, because I liked the size of this card and the performance is a million times better than my old HD5850, I decided to splurge a little, and buy this exact EVGA card. I didn't really want to have to spend this much, but I feel it is worth it considering hardware prices could get much worse. Already since I bought it the normal price has gone up another £5! (I say normal price, because Scan had it on offer £10 cheaper over the weekend). It also adds to my little 'PC Revamp' after winning that nice SanDisk SSD from Hexus (thanks again very much!!!). As a little note regarding the fan, I noticed it seemed to turn off at around 52-53C, although I can't remember what the temperature was when it first kicked in. Either way, it's alot quieter than my previous graphics card.
