Seems pretty overpriced. Perfect Apple product!

It's cheaper than the Razer Core and includes a GTX 950 for $399, but you know, getting a joke in about Apple is more important than reading...

Anyway, no mention of whether the cards can be replaced or what the limits of the power supply are.

Where did you get $399 from? I can only see $449 for the 950 one. Am I missing something?

Can you please quote where I mentioned the Razer Core being cheap? Or was that just an attempt to get some Apple fanboying in? Have you even checked the price of a GTX 950? Do you even know what's actually inside one of these external docking stations?

This is what the Razer Core should've been, <$300 for a reasonably sized enclosure with an external PSU.

Completely agree, instead of cranking out expensive enclosures put a decent GPU in a Thunderbolt small form factor and sell it that way, those who want this product don't obsess over GPU's or having the top of the line, they just want something a bit better than whats built in.

A missed opportunity for Microsoft as well, they should have done an external Xbox GPU based off Radeon RX series for PC's now that Thunderbolt is popping up in laptops, tablets and even DIY motherboards.

I'm not sure that would be a good sales tactic or work due to optimisation problems and CPU requirements but I could definitely see them having a sort of external backwards compatibility box for 360 games.

"Beefed up" "Graphics" and "Apple" are words that don't belong in the same article together. Why do people insist on trying to force gaming on to a completely unsuitable platform? Yes, I'd be upset too if I way overspent on the computer that I love, that, like consoles, are three years behind the times upon release and get poor software support from the manufacturer. BUT, Apple clearly has not focused on that sector for a reason. They've made it clear that their devices are for work, not play, by totally ignoring the gaming sector.

    Those scores don't seem great.

Only a 50% increase from a GTX950 to a GTX970? The gap should be bigger than that!
