Seems pretty overpriced. Perfect Apple product!
This is what the Razer Core should've been, <$300 for a reasonably sized enclosure with an external PSU.
Completely agree, instead of cranking out expensive enclosures put a decent GPU in a Thunderbolt small form factor and sell it that way, those who want this product don't obsess over GPU's or having the top of the line, they just want something a bit better than whats built in.
A missed opportunity for Microsoft as well, they should have done an external Xbox GPU based off Radeon RX series for PC's now that Thunderbolt is popping up in laptops, tablets and even DIY motherboards.
"Beefed up" "Graphics" and "Apple" are words that don't belong in the same article together. Why do people insist on trying to force gaming on to a completely unsuitable platform? Yes, I'd be upset too if I way overspent on the computer that I love, that, like consoles, are three years behind the times upon release and get poor software support from the manufacturer. BUT, Apple clearly has not focused on that sector for a reason. They've made it clear that their devices are for work, not play, by totally ignoring the gaming sector.
Those scores don't seem great.
Only a 50% increase from a GTX950 to a GTX970? The gap should be bigger than that!
