reliant upon two large gyroscopes to prevent it from tipping over
    Aren't they usually called "wheels"?

If the company has managed to patent the wheel after all this time, then they would indeed be ripe for an Apple takeover

No they are called gyroscopes, as in the Brennan Gyroscopic Monorail or Count Shilovsky's Gyrocar. I suspect it would be difficult for Apple to patent inventions made in the 1910s, but they could probably find a way.

If Apple are going to seriously consider Ford's 1961 Gyron concept, perhaps they could also try the 1958 Ford Nucleon and forget about battery problems forever

Re: Supercar maker McLaren denies it is in talks with Apple

Ron Dennis CEO, Chairman and founder of Mclaren Technology Group is recognised as a bit of a control freak so it would have been hard to see him slotting into the Apple world of "do as we say". Mclaren without Dennis would not be the same.

Re: Supercar maker McLaren denies it is in talks with Apple

What I'd much prefer to happen, rather than a take-over, is that the McLaren F1 team gets a major sponsorship deal with Apple, since they're not had a big-name sponsor for a while.
