Get rid of the headphone jack and they'd be perfect!

If it has a microSD slot then I might get one.

Re: Carphone Warehouse publishes Google Pixel listings a bit early

I like how the 3.5mm headphone jack is a "feature" on par with USB-C and fingerprint scanners now.

Specs and appearance still underwhelming though, but a tiny bit better than I was expecting. Top and bottom bezels aren't working for me.

I'd be surprised if there is support for SD cards, previous form suggests there won't be.

Out of interest, as I think I have missed this detail, who is the manufacturing partner for these? Huawei?

Edit: Looks like HTC make them

Re: Carphone Warehouse publishes Google Pixel listings a bit early

I've been waiting all year for these to come along...and they just look so boring. They're going to be expensive ...I'm predicting £450 for the 5" 32Gb model, and £550 for the 5" 128Gb model....topping out at £650 for the 5.5" 128Gb model.

They won't have a microSD...no Nexus device ever has, and they're promoting unlimited cloud storage. The chance of them having a microSD slot is virtually nil.

Think I'm just going to bite the bullet and get the Samsung S7...amazing camera / screen / compact / light weight / microSD / microUSB (positive for me) / 3000mAh battery / waterproof ....what's not to like...and it's less than £450 now online.

Re: Carphone Warehouse publishes Google Pixel listings a bit early

The pixel looks nice enough but suspect its not got Nexus 5 pricing anymore... Shame really as I'd love a cheap phone with half decent specs (not necessarily cutting edge) and prompt OS updates - just like the old Nexus 5... Suspect i'm going to continue being disappointed though as google seem more interesting in chasing apple at the top end than making a sensible midrange phone...

People trying to sound clever, hip, with the current trend. Removing the headphone jack was and is a silly idea. There's space on the larger model so leave it alone or... have audio over both the jack and the USB C port.

I doubt it will have nexus pricing, which is a shame. Like to know where you can get Galaxy S7 for £450 though!

Re: Carphone Warehouse publishes Google Pixel listings a bit early

Interesting if true - given HTC, Samsung and LG all offer microSD expansion it would be a little odd not to include this to match the competition. At least that's one less negative against the phone if true.

    No MicroSD?
And, you got all that space at the bottom and they still decided to put the back and menu buttons on the screen instead?

You sir are thinking just like me, these will be overpriced and boring imho, Galaxy S7 is a much better option once you've slapped a different launcher on it.
