Lets hope nVidia follow suit and stop trying to install stuff I don't want.

I used it as long as there where promotion to claim games with points, after those promotions ended I stopped using the app too. Still use the forum signature in a forum however, maybe I will join from time to time to update my steam stats.
That exactly what I do but why should I constantly have to tell them what I don't want?
Either deselect the optional components by default or only upgrade the components that are already installed.
The current method is nothing more than a way to leverage stuff onto my PC that I do not want.

I'm pretty sure you'll find that if the app wasn't included in the driver bundle the vast majority of people would not download it separately. So they clearly don't want it. The majority probably have no idea what it is or what it does, and only use it in as much as it starts up when they turn their PC on and does its own thing in the background.
Let's be honest - nvidia include it because they want to. It's got nothing to do with what their customers want...
I personally like the GeForce experience app, it is far easier to keep up date with driver updates through that than to keep going through the website to search for drivers all the time, I am not a fan of the game optimisation options as my preferences are almost always different from it's recommendations, but still, different strokes for different folks!
Well, I was using the GeForce Experience app to keep up to date with my drivers, but the latest update wants me to log in and I couldn't see a way around it. So I have ditched it now and will occasionally check the website for driver updates.
I noticed that too and did find it odd why that would be required (probably data collection?), but I already had an account with them so I just accepted my fate and logged in haha!
Hmm, Gaming Evolved became a bit redundant when I switched from AMD to NVidia for my graphics. Not happy to hear thought that all those carefully horded points are worthless. Geforce Experience is okay, then again I've got a Shield tablet, plus it's handy to do a first pass on the graphics settings for games.
Whilst personally i quite like Raptr for the geeky stat tracking (i was using it long before AMD bundled it in the drivers) i'm quite glad it'll be no-longer an 'opt-out' option in the drivers.
The sheer amount of times i've had to go to the extra time and hassle to uninstall it when doing tech support for other (non-gamer) PCs because i'd forgotten to uncheck the option...
Its a shame really as I used it to optimise games performance. Often spotted little tweaks I missed. Hopefully Raptr will keep doing this job?
I won't really miss it but I have used it a few times as a lazy way to get some sensible settings into a newly installed game. Not sure yet if I can be bothered to give the base Raptr install a go, probably not.
