It's a great high-end demo with lots of niche uses. Just not an affordable mainstream gaming platform yet.

But it will develop. Everything starts small.

That sounds like someone who doesn't own a Rift (or Vive).

There is a lot of content out there, and pretty much since my Oculus Touch controllers arrived i've not played anything else. Hours and hours playing SuperHotVR (so far my favourite VR title), I expect you to die, and Serious Sam VR..and still plenty of hours left in all those titles. I've also spent far too long getting sweaty in "the climb", much to the amusement of twitch chat

Good VR may not be affordable for many yet - you need a Rift (ideally) or a Vive for that - but even the relatively limited experience that PSVR offers is still brilliant fun and a huge leap forward from a console point of view. I've logged hundreds of hours in VR since owning my DK2 right through to CV1, and whilst content did dry up for a while, there seems to have been a boom in releases recently, no doubt thanks to PSVR.

It's also worth pointing out how much of a social experience it really is, on a few different levels. I stream almost all my VR gaming sessions on one level, but also within the games themselves so many multiplayer games automatically turn on voice chat, and for whatever reason people seem to actually use it. I've had many a 1 on 1 conversation with people when playing pool or Ripcoil, and made a few new friends along the way.

Don't confuse a scene that is just beginning with dying - as prices come down VR will take off more and more. It's an exciting time to be a gamer

For simulation based games like flying and racing it would be quite nice as not having to have loads of space for it... and actually being able to look around would be nice, but the equipment seem bulky still.

PC VR is dying? You mean the only viable platform for VR currently that is actually pretty successful despite the high costs and that has somewhere in the neighborhood of 600-odd games? Yeah...

A quick look at Steam reveals 873 VR Supported titles, and 669 VR Only titles (some overlap is obvious here and some will be tech demos), supported across all 3 VR platforms. Vive, OSVR and Oculus.

Yup, it's dying alright.

It's probably been 10 years since I last tried VR and to be honest it hasn't come far at all, apart from how much they are charging for it.
