But no news (or even acknowledgement) of the Wattman issues, particularly the fact that it locks the memory to 150MHz on 300 series cards if you run two monitors (or if it feels like it...). This persists even after reboot so it's not much fun.
The only saving grace of the whole painful episode was that the "one click" Win 10 driver rollback (in the generic driver properties tab) worked a treat at getting me back to my previous drivers, so I can recommend that.

Performance of core drivers themselves has been good on my end, no issues. ReLive is still a pain though, can't get toolbar or instant replay to work in fullscreen or borderless. Luckily I still don't know how to edit videos so these issues are somewhat irrelevant for now..

Was hoping this issue was fixed in this release... From the comments in that reddit thread* it seems the issue is still at large, sigh! Staying with 16.11 then I guess!

Edit: *And from your experience... misread your post first time around!

This is why I will be going back to team Green at my next GPU refresh, bitten once before by AMD's (well it was ATI back then) rubbish drivers. Never again

The toolbar only appears when you see the little yellow icon on top left. Need to make sure you activate the Relive to on and not to record desktop.

I changed my toolbar hotkey to Ctrl+1 and in Arma 3 for instance, I could only get the toolbar to appear if Arma was in Fullscreen mode.

I've still to set it up for my new card as I'm now using an MSI Radeon RX480 8GB. I'll let you know how I get on but I am avoiding the latest driver until the fix some of the issues.

I've been with AMD/ATI since the 9500pro and this is the first major issue that I've encountered (possibly fluke or perhaps just by avoiding early adoption).

I only got caught by this one because I was tempted to try the new FPS capping feature - experience tells me to never read the release notes but to wait until my attention is grabbed by some positive buzz about the feature, that weeds out the useless and the broken.

My last ATI card was a Rage Fury Maxx (basically 2 rage 128 pro's welded together) in 1999/2000, cost the earth back then and never worked properly, I needed different drivers for different games and it was a complete pain in the backside. The R9 380 is my first team red card since then, not impressed, driver features missing (HDTV scaling) after driver upgrades, WattMan killing games after 10-15 minutes.

Oh that's definitely going to sour your view! Yes there were lots of driver issues with those early ATI cards - fortunately I managed to avoid that whole sorry era and went straight from Voodoo 3 to GeForce 2 MX, which were both nice cards in their days but back then everything went obsolete very, very quickly didn't it.
