As it happens, I just (like, in the last 2 hours) got 2 new Dell 2412Ms to replace a pair of 2408s that were on the way out.

Re: QOTW: Which component did you change most recently?

graphics card - jumped in and got a bargain of a GTX 1060 6GB to replace my older GTX 770 setup.

I'm glad I did as pricing skyrocketed due to mining demand about 2 weeks after I purchased the card.

Massive gains in FPS, massive drop in power usage and also noise levels.

It was by choice - I needed to upgrade and glad I did now

Re: QOTW: Which component did you change most recently?

My monitor, earlier this week. I upgraded to a Samsung C32F391 32" curved number. It's brilliant.

I'd acquired a decent amount of refund credit and vouchers (plus the money for selling the one it's replacing), so it's effectively only cost me about a 100 quid. I'd had the old one for around four years, and while not the oldest component of the system, it seemed like a good time to upgrade.

If it's purely my then my graphics card I think, which would be a gtx1060 6GB, although I did get a mouse and keyboard (ms sculpt ergonomic and logitech mx master) around the same time.

Have bought a Canon MX925 in the mean time as well though.

Re: QOTW: Which component did you change most recently?

I changed 3 components in October of last year, one was an SSD I won via Hexus (thanks again!), another was some extra RAM, and finally I got a GTX1060 6gb because my old card (HD 5850) was really struggling. They were all changed for speed improvement because I needed the extra performance to run the latest games.

Re: QOTW: Which component did you change most recently?

Must've been that Samsung 850 EVO 1 TB. Upgraded mostly because I wanted to. I say 'mostly' because it replaced a WD Black 1 TB from 2008, which was bound to fail eventually, even though it showed no error when I replaced it. It was relatively loud, hot and vibrating, though.

Lol..I love how the Hexus staff drop these 'TGIF' questions on its readership just before they turn out the lights in the office.

..It keeps the site ticking over the weekend, whilst you all talk amongst yourselves.

..I bet no one at Hexus actually cares what you post on the subject.

Re: QOTW: Which component did you change most recently?

Last upgrade was a big one, think about 1 to 1.5 years ago now.

Bought a fractal refine r4? blackout edition, notcua cpu cooler, noctua case fans, corsair hx850i PSU, new mobile racks for my HDDs, cables, thermal paste.

From my old PC i took the rest. Its a core i7 2600k, 16gb ram, asus deluce MB, and a R9 290 from Sappires Toxic series.

Main goal was a total silent, yet well cooled PC, and i've succeded.
