AMD does everything it can to bring in a fair priced CPU to try and regain marketshare so the motherboard manufacturers pretty much do everything they can to undo it...
Hopefully the prices are just placeholders and they come in at more realistic prices because those are just stupid, even intel mobtherboards are coming in cheaper.

Most people don't actually need a Threadripper though. Just get a Ryzen 7 and be done with it. It's aimed high because it's the first time in ages that AMD can actually price it that high. The board are all loaded there will be cheaper options available
