Re: Bethesda announces Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition

So any news on whether they have tried to improve performance?? Ryzen performs relatively poorly in FO4,so wondering if Bethesda have improved performance due to their new partnership with AMD. It was the same thing with Skyrim - the community had to step in to improve CPU performance months before Bethesda patched the game.

Just asking since I play the game quite a bit,and performance in this game will probably be a factor when I upgrade my PC!!

Re: Bethesda announces Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition

I've got all the DLC on PS4, it's a great game but I jumped in to Far Harbor before completing the main game and I got very bored. Think I might hop out and do some more of the story. Kind of wish I went for it on PC, but the console version is fairly good, and it supports some workshop items.

As an exploration game I still find things I haven't before noticed after nearly two years of playing the game - there was even one place which was a tribute to Cheers(!).

Try modding the game too - it really adds another dimension to the game as a whole.

Are they going to be launching it on GOG at the same time or is this a steam exclusive for now?

This is what I'm interested in too. Considering the fact they've been working on a VR version they must have made some improvements to the engine to make it work at 90hz stable, it's just a question of whether they port it over to the '2D' version.

I enjoy it for the exploration as well, like you say some of the details and references are really nicely done.

I want to finish it as-is for now, get the achievements then try with the mods - probably the only reason I'd consider buying it for PC is the modding, particularly the visual enhancements that aren't going to work on the PS4

Yeah, with settlements and mods performance can get dicey with my IB Core i7,so hopefully there are some improvements.

Re: Bethesda announces Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition

Wondered why I kept seeing the original hit under £10 recently. Been meaning to buy it for a while but keeping putting it off as I don't have the time with two youngsters. Oh well just need to wait for this edition to hit £10 now!

Bethesda never really reduced the price of the DLCs so you got the base game reduced but not the DLCs,and they increased the price of the DLCs only a few months after release, which made the game more expensive than actually buying it close to release.

Re: Bethesda announces Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition

A good strategy seems to be to grab the base game now for a tenner, then get the DLCs when they are on offer. Think I got the equivalent of GOTY for about £24 all-in (and that was paying £12 for the game at ASDA) when the PS Store had their last big sale. You do need to rank up fair bit in the main game before tackling Nuka World or Far Harbor.

Only thing now is with this version looming the DLC prices are going to be very stubborn.

Have they fixed the interface yet? I bought a new gfx card to play FO4 after loving FO2 & 3. Played about 2 hours of FO4 before binning it as they had screwed the interface up.

It's only been a couple of years, if that. It's the Mass Effect complete edition that's taking forever.

There is a mod for that.

Sadly its the modders who fix the problems not Bethesda generally.
