It's a shame there isn't any hint at iGPU performance as that's where AMD could really take a lead over what i consider a weakness of Intel's.

AMD should include a type of high speed eDRAM cache for the GPU just like iris-Pro or Xbox One. I am not comfortable running GPU on slow DDR4

Iris Pro adds a huge cost to the processor, and AMD don't have the reputation/market share to launch products at that much of a premium.

Plus Intel's GPU architecture is completely different to AMD's, which means AMD might not benefit from that kind of small eDRAM cache. I think they've more likely to go down the route of putting a single HBM stack onto an interposer with the APU, but probably not for a couple of generations. DDR4 isn't slow in system RAM terms...

I'm guessing these are the CPU cores that will go into Playstation 5 but paired with a much more powerful GPU component in 2-3yrs time.

6/12 or 8/16 Ryzen CPU parts would finally break the terrible CPU bottlenecks that have plagued the PS4 & Xbox One this generation.

Has there been any word on whether you can hybrid crossfire one of these APU's with a full/mobile dedicated Vega card? It's not something I would look at personally for various reasons, but the tech in itself and possible applications does interest me.

I've not heard anything specific - in much the same way that I've also not heard about hybrid options for Bristol Ridge.

My guess would be that AMD will recommend pairing them with the RX 550, which should have about the same performance as the top end (desktop) Raven Ridge. Don't forget that Vega is currently only available in high-end form, so it wouldn't make any sense to pair an APU with existing Vega. AMD's graphics have always been a lot less finicky about pairing different generations and architectures so I'm pretty sure vega + polaris shouldn't be an issue.

I'm actually currently holding out on a new laptop with half an eye on when we'll get Raven Ridge mobile... a Raven Ridge APU + RX 550 with hybrid graphics would be amazing...

We need these in Windows tablets ASAP. Way better for light gaming than any Atom!

Waiting for this before building a family iGPU build. Should be a great value platform rolling up Vega too to last for many years to come
