Well, based on that I won't be buying it.
Shame as I own all the other Ass Creed games and this one looked quite good and it's been 2 years since the last one. Ubisoft seem to have enough coding problems without adding more DRM to their list of dodgy code.
Might as well download the cracked game to let UBI know how I feel, especially if it performs better once released.

If Ubisoft wish to make an statement as to when the DRM will be officially removed I will think about it. As it stands I'm not thinking about this at all. My most recent Ubisoft game Prince of Persia - Sands of Time.
Technically they're employing more than a double dose of DRM as there's Steam and/or Uplay on top of VMProtect on top of Denuvo.
At least publishers have found a use for all these extra CPU cores.

I am reminded once again why I don't buy Ubisoft or EA games. Thanks but no thanks. I'll stick to publishers and indy devs which care about the customer and don't think loot boxes are a good idea...

I'd take the "DRM affecting performance" claims with a pinch of salt, you'll see them in pretty much any game employing the more recent protection schemes, largely by the same people.
While it's true that the protections will take some of your system resources (and I imagine more when they are layered in this fashion), it shouldn't be noticeable, and Ubi must have some sort of QA process before release.
I expect a few optimization/performance patches will make a bigger difference than removing the DRM, which in the case of Denuvo seems to be patched out a few months after it is "broken".
I have the game and believe me the game look amazing and yeah my CPU is always Max Out... but that being said the game is always running at 60 FPS@1080p (Max AA and Graphics Settings no matter the setting I have about 10 in game hours right now) I don't have the newest of the processor but the game runs fine with no problems or major bugs so I'm very happy with the game, the gameplay is amazing, and the map is huge like Ghost Recon wildlands size or bigger lots of hours of gameplay totally worth it if like the assassins games or want to try one out..

Obviously it's difficult to know how much it's effecting performance but I'd imagine making a call to a virtual CPU every time the player moves has an impact on performance to some degree, i can understand publishers wanting to protect their stuff but linking it to player movement seems a bit extreme.
This is why I now mainly get the newer stuff on my PS4, at least you just put the disc in and away you go. AC Origins plays fine on PS4 and is a great game.
I get where companies are coming from to try and protect their licenses and maximise sales but on the flip side whatever they do should not cause issues for legitimate users
Impacting performance only encourages me not to buy the game. Luckily I wasn't going to anyway. Legit customers should not be penalised.
3770k @ 4.5 / 1080Ti, performance is not good.
Changing crouch from toggle to held results in you having to press crouch to stand after swinging a weapon from a crouched position. Starting a new game without running as Administrator results in a crash. It seems some of their games do not like to be installed on drive other than the boot. I don't beleive they did any PC QA before release.
I was excited about this one. Now I'm not.
If this is how Ubisoft is going to be releasing their games it shows that they care more about pirates than the people actually buying the game.
My money was theirs to lose. And they did.
LOL when I read about this on another site yesterday all it did was remind me of the old meme that went with dvd movies where it showed the legal owner having to deal with all the 'legal stuff' saying don't pirate while the pirates just went straight to the movie.
This will eventually get cracked like every other drm so instead of making a game where people 'want to buy it' what does Ubisoft do, they make it so the game is bogged down with unnecessary drm measures that early reports are making people NOT want to buy it lol...
New ubisoft AAA title doesn't run well on PC.... who would have thought! I doubt it is just the DRM, look at it properly, watch dogs (1 and 2), every AC game from unity onwards and a handful of other games, an exampe being wildlands, have all been sloppy bad performing ports, ubisoft are happy for the users to blame the DRM at present because it masks how awful their programming is (again.)
I called this in the last thread about this game (although I didn't think to include DRM issues in there).
Also, never buy a ubisoft game through steam, you still have to run uplay ontop of it to play and the amount of users I have seen complain about issues when running games this way is unreal.
Even the wildlands free weekend decided to run itself in russian when english was clearly selected in the steam language options on my machine (and I have no proxy or VPN or anything, I am in the UK!).
