I have just got my first taste of the PvP system and I would have to say I like it
I now have 5 honourable kills from some quite fun battles with the alliance, I even managed to bag a lvl 60 night elf

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.
Nice. But I suppose that this honour system is only gonna work for those who have enough time to put in the hours to get level 60's and such then? Coz there's no way I'll get any decent kills, therefore no ranks or equipment, therefore impossible to beat anyone in the future who'll give me an honourable kill, therefore not getting any decent kills etc etc.
I think its scaled to your level so for you a honourable kill with Ren would be 23 plus/minus 12 levels

Outside ogg and at the gurubashi arena which now enables PvP as you enter
Lots of alliance have just decimated tarren mill and Hammerfall

But when will I be able to get an honourable kill, even someone 12 levels lower than me? In a raid? I doubt it, I'd be killed quickly enough by the higher levels guys trying to get honour off me.
On a PVE server I wouldn't have a chance in any other places than when a raid is going on, coz people won't go PvP enabled around me, unless they're higher than me and I wouldn't stand a chance.
On a PvP server, unless you're in a group I can see myself getting owned a lot, but then that will counter with the fact I'll be able to hide and pounce on people to get a few kills, but I still won't rack up enough points to get the high level stuff I think.
I just think everything to do with honour (eq and mounts et al) will be well beyond the reach of anyone who isn't lvl 60 and has 6-8 hours per day spare to raid as they've got all the levels and done all the quests etc...
you get honourable kills for killing stuff around your lvl or higher.

The level stuff is out of the reach of anyone with a life outside WoW as only the top 2-3 of each faction on each server will have that rank.
But the lower level items are definatly available for us to get, my aim is to be able to get into the hall thing in Orgrimmar.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.
I am quite excited by the new honor system and I am looking forward to killing some people tonight, if I get the chance.

I don't see how the lower level items will be available to me, perhaps I just don't understand the system. How can you have thousands of people with the same lower rank? I know the top level will be only 1% of the server, and I can imagine you high level guys will have the opportunity to gain ranks, but I don't see how we can, considering there are so many people much higher than us who can kill us in PvP situations (referring to the hidden rogue idea posted elsewhere).Originally Posted by Mblaster
The system is basically designed for level 60s. Given everyone is going to end up there sooner or later that does make a certain amount of sense.
OK, but say if I played Rentau continuously, it would take me about 2 months to get him to level 60. By that time there will be so many people with high PvP rankings that I wouldn't stand a chance to catch up and get anything, would I?Originally Posted by Butcher
Perhaps that's the benefit of being on a new server, but even then, I'm like lvl 17 and there are probably people at level 40 already.
I'm beginning to think if WoW isn't for me anymore, I can't put in the hours to get the rewards and I seem to feel more and more negative towards the game. Yes, it's fun to play, but I wanna be a part of something... Eve on the other hand, my characters can advance without me even playing, therefore giving people a fair chance (at least skills wise, you still have to actually play/work to get money etc).
There are 14 ranks that only 1 person can be at a time but then there are also rewards for having certain amount of honour.Originally Posted by Allen

Really? So there will be only 14 people on our server with rankings?Originally Posted by Dooms
I could've swore I read there was more, but only 1% from each server would reach the top rank...
That makes it even more dire, only 14 people... None of us have a chance then really, do we?
How lame is that.
Spend some time and read though wow pvp article if you havnt already - should clear a few things up for u.
