    MMmm 3 phones :)

Right, my o2 contract runs out at the end of this month, and I'll probably be going to 3 (lower monthly bills and all that).

    Which phone should I get!!!??

Can't decide... but currently like the look of:

    Motorola A1000
    Nokia 6630

the moto e1000 is fooken huge so i dont want that.

moto v975 looks nice too... but alas no bluetooth!

    which one... which one indeed!

...if like overcharged bills and crappy customer service then welcome to 3, they suck in my opinion, i sent a phone for repair and i got it bk the exact same way twice, first month was charged 90£ when it was supposed to be just 14£, their customer service people have no understanding, explaining a simple problem will take you over the edge. if only the didnt have the cheapest service,....like they say....you get what you pay for.

on a happier note...the A1000 is a nice phone, i got it and its ok as far 3 phones go, the camera...will let you down(if you bought the phone cos of camera)...1.3Mega Pixel..more like 0.13, you cant see nothing unless you are in a very bright place, mp3 player is ok...since its a Uiq Phone...there are tons of apps available for it.

if your stupid enough (and i mean stupid) to go onto 3 then get the nokia, its the better phone of the 2 and odds are it will be more reliable

but seriously dont go on 3! lower monthly bills but less calls...most of your calls wont connect and those that do will most likely drop out randomly....you have been warned

3 in my opinion is a good network. i have never had to contact customer services, all the billing has been correct. agreed the signal does drop but that is because of the 2g and 3g networks, and as soon as you are in a low signal area it will change (hopfully) and you can call again due the massive amounts of minutes you get.

i regularily go to three.co.uk, to check up on how much of my allowance i have used to stop me from going over!

i cannot say it is a bad netowrk, but it is obviously not the best! i am pleased with it so far, altho i have the nokia 7600 which is how would you say it, 'unique' lol

Can't decide... but currently like the look of:

    Motorola A1000
    Nokia 6630
Personally, I'd go with the Nokia 6630. If you don't mind the stylings and the lack of a front-facing camera then it's a very good smartphone with one of the best cameras I've seen on a phone.

As people have mentioned, 3's customer service is appalling. It all seems to have been out-sourced to India and the people on the other end are just reading a script - they don't have a clue about what you're talking about.

However, an even bigger concern for me personally is the lack of internet access. Forget about surfing the web, chatting on MSN or downloading your e-mail on 3 - even with a powerful smartphone like the Nokia 6630 and Motorola A1000.

Do NOT go with 3, currently i am on the 9th month of my contract with the LG U8120 and its more use as a paperweight. I will try to remain impartial and not exagerate any of the following issues:

    1. Have had to send my phone for repair twice now on seperate occasions (camera/button mal and freezing) but on both occasions have had it back from repair saying its fixed when it is anything but fixed...so again it gets sent away. 2 simple problems (1 firmware update, and new camera mechanism) totalling 4 sent outs, and to get pedantic you can't get a loan phone so its around 1 week of lost tariff - £6.

    2. Their customer service is absolutely dire, they have no idea about the tariffs/bolt on's or the phone models at all. Some clearly cannot grasp the context of what your saying and general helpfulness is poor. However you often don't have to hold for long periods which is good.

    3. If now i try to dial Gipo for example, i would have to press dial probably 3 times before it will connect, as the first two times will normally return "No service" although my reception will be 3 bars (of 4), over 9 months this becomes very frustrating.

    4. Dropped calls, whenever you roam from 3G back to 2G it will drop your call free of charge - now i know this isn't just a 3 problem as it happens on Orange too (3G<-->UTMS) but it happens rather too often given the claimed coverage.

    5. Reception is absolutely horrible in anything but major towns/cities when on 3G.

    6. Their walled garden internet policy is nothing short of a sodding monopoly, unless you want to use their services then don't even both with 3.

Honest to god, me and my friend (his contract has now ended) were both lured by the outstanding price, but for all the salt on the earth i would pay another £5 and get the service im paying for 95% of the time.

In fact even paying £70 bills on Orange was less painful that this joke of a network, massive under investment.

    DON'T DO IT

The amount of returns i had to process while working for 3 was shocking, that put me off enough.

Oh, and having to handle the phones, there was only 1 or 2 decent models, and even those i wouldn't own

Stay well off 3, all the other networks will be doing the same kind of services soon anyway.

Been with 3 for over a year now, and so has my sister. Both have been flawless.
Havent had any more problems than i have with my O2 phone(which is yet to go wrong!).

I dont recommend Motorola phones AT ALL though.
I think they are pants(Battery life is weak and the software is poor. Especially when compared to the Nokia smartphones.

Before anyone tells me to try one first....I own 2 motorolas - i stand by my words above.

Just got a Job with O2 though so XDA II comming my way!! 50% off line rental....how can i lose
