    Cheers.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    I seem to remember asking in maplin to be told they don't do 'em (possibly the guy didn't know - he 'thought' only dual channel pack could be used in DDR mode)!!!

    Best prices will be online, but postage will be the killer & with molex (3 & 4 pins), I have seen the odd gender confused arguement. Perhaps try molex kits from ebuyer?

    Yeah, they do sell them, you probably just got a muppet (i know, out of about 20 staff, maybe 5 knew what they were talking about)

    You want codes BX97 for the sockety bit, with YW25 being the terminals, and bx96 for the plug.

    I recently got a hdd from maplins

    me : "that drive there got a buffer"
    maplins spotty kid : "buffer?"
    Hey i used to be one of those spotty kids!

    Generally the leeds stores not bad, or at least it wasnt, there were usually at least half of the staff knew what they were talking about. Management are the worst.

    All maplins drives, at least when i was there were 2mb buffers, at least the PATA ones were, what i think is worst is they dont even sell a brand, they just buy whats cheapest at a certain capacity.

    Cheapest?

    Maplin marked stuff up a lot. We used to have to force our regional manager to drop the PC component prices to sell em.

    Still love the day when I managed to sell 10 comps to a business, then get paid personally to install them

    I made more money from people I helped at maplin then Maplin ever paid me.

    Cheapest as in for them to buy, not as in for them to sell. Staff prices were pretty good though, especially with offers, and you cant beat the bargaintastic discontinued kit (Pair of JBL speakers, 2 2x16 LCDs were all 98p, and i got a headunit for the car w/ aux in for 4.98)

    I ain't kidding on that.

    Did some networking stuff seperate to maplin, £10 p/h.

    Installed some LEDs on someone motorbike, £50, a compaq P4 server, 17" CRT, two multifunction printers and he offered me a job doing PS3 development, which is where I laid my hands on the PS3 last week and was unimpressed.
