Dual Core 4ghz CPU for £90?

Well knowing Tom's its quite likely they got sent a "nice" processor. But I've seen some other nice results with the 805's. Just about to grab our own and give it a thorough seeing to

Ive read that it can easily hit 3.8 GHz also I think I read today (cant remember where)
that it will be dropping to $90 which is what £60?

They seem to be fairly good processors across the board.
One thing to note is that if you're planning on a budget, you probably won't hit 4GHz...cheap memory, an unstable board or PSU could well hold you back, but you should be able to hit respectable clocks with the 805 nonetheless.

The better boards for this cpu are expensive........so a new build wouldn't be so cheap with a £100+ board and a solid power supply.

Also, I didn't see any long term stress testing, eg 24 hours prime or folding.........bet it puts out a fair old temp under continuous load.

which is why they went to watercooling to get to 4.0GHz so factor that cost in too.

It must consume a good bit of power too - not too good for the planet and of course your electricity bills!!
