That's the problem. I'll have 1.2TB in a 5 disc array so I can only back up the most important stuff. After all, what's the point in RAID 3 when you can lose all your data because the card is crap instead of a drive failing. I think i'll save for a better card.

i would be sorely tempted by a driverless PCI-e version of the card.

i guess that's not on the cards now............

    Hi guys,
Is anyone still hosting the bios updates? I've just bought a 5 port version and I dont have the option to rebuild arrays... does anyone know why? I assume it can be fixed with a bios update but I cant find anyone that is hosting it! my current version is v1.6.4.1.

    Cheers

I've bundled up the 1761 BIOS and 1761 Storage Manager files and placed them at the following URL:

    http://www.sutherlandweb.pwp.blueyon.../files/XFX.zip

I'll try to remember to not delete them this time

You are an absolute star blueball

I can't remember what FW version i have on my card, but i'm sure this is newer. Finges crossed it will let me add the 500GB Samsung to an array.

Does this effect only me or are there others who cannot rebuild arrays from the bios screen, even with v1.7.6.1 ?

Red Alert... can we not add Samsungs? I recall there are issues with maxtors and certain FW but surely no probs with Samsung HDs.. I have 2.5tb of Sammys waiting to go into my array!!!

I couldn't say for sure. I have a 500gig Samsung connected to my card but it sits there saying unalocated or un-initialised or something (not at home to check). Could just be me not doing something

Just wanted to say thanks to blueball for posting links to the old updates. Scan were selling these cards for just over a tenner yesterday in their 'today only' section which is just too cheap to turn down!
