*** Pulled from Abit USA forums, picture from cnet taiwan ***

AB9 QuadGT:
updated AB9 board, better layout. Supports Quad core, and has 2 PCIe 16x graphics slots (only 8x bandwidth to each). Has Silent OTES. Maybe uses ICH7R (instead of ICH8) to add IDE slot and 2 less SATA ports without using extra controller. This would help accomodate 2 PCIe 16x slots as well.

Looking forward to this board, roumers have it it's capable of 550+ FSB which is AWSOME news. Hopefully it won't be too overpriced considering the tech on it, could be a great seller

Lol
Found another IB9 review

external clearCMOS switch
Meant to say about that not seen that any where it is a thoughtful touch.

my new shortlist is shown here Best £150 mobo I must say i'm favouring abit support etc., it's far superior to asus from what i've seen. I just hope that the launch soon. Have ordered my memory got new cooler & fan, will be able to gert mobo & 6600 around 15th. It may be a lot of pressure sitting on my hands waiting for the Abit AB9 QuadGT

Luck

& there's a disturbance in the force re. another mobo mfrs support ...

the Hexus article says QuadGT in shops end of January if it goes to plan.

with a 6600 if you intend to overclock a 975 make a lot of sense as the 965s switch to the 1333 strap ~400fsb & lose performance.
I can't make my mind up between a DFI Infinity 975X (£100, decent), AW9D-MAX (£130 but more features) or perhaps an IN9 ...
Decisions, decisions

There has been a lot of talking up of the DFI Infinity in the last few months there is a New Rev i975 Infinity from DFI

Think i've been a bit predjudiced about this mobo, when i last looked at it around august it had a reputation for being overpriced (infinity is DFI "cheap" brand with "lanparty" top end") hard to overclock compared to other boards. But looking at the oc database & other results on DFI st it has come on.
Socket LGA775 Overclocking Database

Have been watching Deanzo - My AW9D Max Build So Far for a while & must admit to being quitely impressed with the performance.

Don't think i've ever known a time when there are so many new mobos coming out. Hope the links are useful there from forums i've not seeen you on

I've seen a lot of pps say about 975 = 6600 + 965 = allendale. Am still studying the new concepts bootstrap etc., but would be happy with any of the 3 boards i mentioned just which according to the possible release dates seen the commando will be out arond 2weeks probably b4 the QuadGT.

It will be down to what my will power can stand from the 15th:-
1) No will power - grab the AW9D Max & start playing
2) Wait a while wondering to order the quad on back order. Or if any delays in Quad, last bit of willpower goes & i get my sticky mits on a commando(the mobo )
3) I impress the wife(and every1 who knows me) with my willpower & get the Quad, After waiting around 4months whats a couple of weeks.

this seems liek a beast, but only considering this over the P5B Deluxe, if the overclocking is better thn the asus and recieves a positive review from places.

looks very sweet
