    ATI Radeon 9800 Pro All-In-Wonder

Despite a false start with the first Radeon 9800 Pro All-In-Wonder that arrived, another was duly procured and what a card it turned out to be. I finally got a good look at a board I'd been admiring from afar for a long time, ever since the 8500DV. Here's a snip.

TV on my desktop, recording of my favourite shows that I can convert later to DivX, excellent TV-Out and the best 3D performance money can buy. It might be a lot of money, but if you want one, you'll find it.

Check out the full article, here.

No Gemstar+ software shipped with the sample, I wasn't able to test it I think it works, but not 100% sure. I'll ask ATI and post a reply here as soon as they get back to me.

Apparently Shuttle's don't like the AIW much, 200W PSU isn't enough to get them going. Not sure, that's just what I was told this afternoon by someone. Hacks include a small external 12V source for the Radeon, that mounts in a PCI slot. Also booting the Shuttle with Radeon disconnected, wait for just before POST, plug the 12V in to the Radeon. Not good!

I'll confirm the Gemstar+ issue at the very least. Glad you liked the article, was fun to write.

    Question

I've been looking for one of these cards in the UK for AGES now.

Can either of you two guys please help me and give some advice on where to look?

    Thanks,

I think Dabs and OcUK might carry the Sapphire version, but I'm not 100% sure.

They are as good a place as any to look.
