Question where can I get a pci-e riser for hiper media chassis?

    Hi,

I've got all the bits I need for a media pc, except the pci-e riser.

I've got one ordered with scan, but although the website says they're in stock, apparently they aren't really.

I've also checked www.xcase.co.uk and they haven't had any stock in for some time.

If one can't be found, does anyone know if the risers from www.linitx.com will work in the chassis?

    Thanks for your help

I'm also in the same boat. I have e-mailed Hiper, again, and no reply still. A couple of Australian pc suppliers do have something resembling the riser but it looks different to the photo on scan!

If you come up with something please let me know and vice versa.

So if one does come up for sale on ebay it will be me versus you?

Sorry, I can't give the url as I have less than 5 posts???

Let me know how you get on.

    Hi,

    thanks for the replies.

I've got the riser (left handed) from www.linitx.com.

It's a bit too short, and although I can get a geforce 8600gt to work without the lid on, the heatsink and DVI port nearest to the pci-e slot put too much tension on the riser, and I don't think I could get the top of the case on without forcing the riser out of the pci-e slot.

However, I've bought an Asus 690G HDMI motherboard, and the HDMI slot, tv-out and spdif output are on a pci-e extension, which fits without a problem, but the backing plate is just at a bit of an angle. At least it's usable on the TV.

    I've also found this place.

    http://www.hytec-electronics.co.uk/Adex_Electronics.htm

It's got hundreds of risers in!

The pci-e 16x riser that may work is the PEXP16-RX1, but with a slot height of 1.05" (about 3cm) I think it may be too tall!

I also contacted Hipergroup uk, and was told they had none of the official risers in stock.

Finally, does anyone know if a flexi riser would work? The one's on linitx have about 7cm cables, and I'm not sure where I could cram that much cabling in the media chassis.

    Hi Pickledliver

Think I have sorted a riser from x-case but haven't tried it yet.

Did you get sorted with one and if so have you tried the graphics card yet because that is my next step.

    Cheers.

Re: where can I get a pci-e riser for hiper media chassis?

I did order one from there, but I have had no contact since last week, and it was over 2 weeks since I ordered the part. I had an email from them last Monday (after I emailed to chase it), saying it would be dispatched that day. I eamiled again on Thursday to ask where it was. No reply. I've cancelled the order now as I don't believe they actually have any in stock.

    Thanks
