    Shuttle Conference Pics

Last Friday myself and a friend who works for my site went to a Shuttle Conference in Birmingham, England.

We came away with some interesting pics and information, some of which i'd like to share with you all!

Here are pics of the SN85G4 (Shuttle for AMD64) and the Shuttle codename "L" which is not yet ready for retail according to Shuttle....

    Shuttle SN85G4 & Shuttle L

As you can see the Shuttle "L" has an interesting approach to Stealthing the front audio/USB/etc. connectors. It also has a drive bay cover that folds down when u need to load/eject a CD/DVD or whatever. It's pretty cool, but i'm still more of a fan of the SN41G2B etc.

Also you can see that the Power supplies on both these Shuttles are different from previous designs. It uses a very slimline 60mm fan running quietly on the inside of the shuttle rather than the usual noisy 40mm fan on the outside...

So if u use the front ports then u end up with a bit flap in the way, niiiiiice

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

nope not at all, you can use ALL of the front ports with the flap closed, it's infact very clever.... it's hard to explain tho. Basically the ports go back inside the case and theres a gap at the bottom for your cables to get through etc.

Rogan - which one are you on about, or is it both?

I agree the the ideas are good with the stealthing drive cover and front ports, but bring back the original styling. I think these look really ugly. All we needed was a slight mod to the G2 style to remove the 3.5 front bay.

Let's hope it was a more professionally presented affair than last years effort done by Morex - last years was the most un-professional & 'amateur' event I have ever attended....

Skipped it this year as I've just been to Computex.

When you've been up in Shuttles 'invite only' suite in the Taipai Hyatt for over 2 hours, the Morex event just isn't that appealing....
