    3G map?

This is bound to have been asked before but is there a map showing 3G coverage over the UK? I live in a fairly rural area and get rubbish broadband speed and 3G broadband might actually be faster so it would be useful to get an idea what speed I might get with a mobile phone link to a PC... Anyone?

    Re: 3G map?

Most coverage maps you find are really small and not very detailed.

I know t-mobile let you check your post code for coverage, i think the others might do this too.

Ok, thanks for the reply. Will check T-mobile website. Anyone any experience of whether their postcode checker is accurate?

    Re: 3G map?

The post codes I checked before i got my t-mobile were all in low signal areas. The one for work said it was a very poor signal. Turns out I can get 3 bars and a failry decent 3G connection. Although the office/yard is only 5 minutes from a major industrial estate in Aberdeen, the arrangement of embankments etc. mean it is a bit of a radio blackspot. I'm the only person in the company that can get a call at their desk

    Re: 3G map?

Bear in mind that mobile broadband is even worse than ADSL for optimistic advertising claims.
If you don't have full signal you will get a slower speed, and if there are lots of users then there is contention etc.
I would be surprised if mobile broadband is a better option for you.
Having said that if you research it and it seems good go for it and let me know how good it is
