T-Mobile phone Failed to Connect to the Internet

I have googled this without success:

Recently acquired a 2nd model of a Tmobile phone I already have, I am getting 100javax.microedition.io.ConnectionNotFoundException: TCP open error screen

All settings seem to be the same between the 2 models & I have factory reset with no effect

    Any help gratefully received.

Just some generic thought... Have you checked the software release numbers on both phones to see if they are identical? If so, it may be corrupted firmware, unlikely but possible.

It does look like a Java interpreter problem, not connection to something, but my knowledge of Java is practically zero.

Is the problem the same using wi-fi or mobile? I would guess yet as it seems to be a TCP problem rather than a transport layer problem.

I assume the 2nd phone wasn't bought new, but if it was, might be worth sending back to supplier.

    Sorry can't offer anything better.

I wouldn't know how to do this

Yes it's a 2nd hand phone; bought only a relatively short while ago to use as a spare - didn't intend to use it for the internet, as I wanted to continue using the original for that so didn't know or care that this one didn't connect. Annoyingly my original now seems to be on the way out so bang goes my 'one & a spare' always the way.

I would only want to use it with my payg sim so I haven't checked wifi. I will noodle around with it further, otherwise it looks like phone no 3 is on the cards & will have to check its abilities properly this time.. Thanks for your reply anyway Peter
