Go for a cheap android, you would still be more satisfied than having a windows phone ... I can do literally nothing (with my needs).
Reason I said that becox I think you hate the iphone too.

I've just seen a load of headlines that 'Microsoft drop Windows Phone', but when you delve deeper, it appears they've dropped support for WP8.1, which isn't quite the same.

I don't think there's been a major new Windows Phone release for a decent while now.

App support is starting to leach away. There was a brief period recently where the Facebook app was updated and set to require 2GB of RAM, which meant i wouldn't open on my Lumia 550. That's been sorted, thankfully, but there's still a number of apps I would use that have been withdrawn (most notably TSB, Paypal, and BBC Radio Player), as well as the services that never had Windows apps in the first place (most obviously Google, but e.g. Strava doesn't have a Win Phone app). The browser versions of those services simply aren't good enough to replace a native app, and Edge browser is a bit flaky in its support and functioning anyway.

In other words, I personally wouldn't buy another Windows Phone now. I have no confidence in the longevity of the platform, and I can't see how they're going to expand the developer community enough to get big companies making Win Phone apps again.

Anyway, my next phone decision got really easy after I read a couple of reviews of the BB keyONE. I was pretty sure I wanted one before; now I absolutely know for sure that I do.

It is. They've dropped all versions of Windows Phone.

    Windows 10 Mobile however...

    Re: windows 10 phone

I'm still using (and very happy with) my Lumia 930, with Windows 10 Mobile. Got a new update 2 days ago, too. I think it's the lowest spec phone that is compatible with Win 10.

Nowadays I just pin the websites as tiles on the Start. I'd like more apps, for sure, but everything else is just intuitive.

I also like my desktop telling me when I've missed a phone call. Integration.

Don't Microsoft have Android apps that do that now? I'm pretty sure there's an Android phone companion app for Windows 10 too. Will be investigating when I get my keyONE

Mine isn't an app. Just Windows on both devices knowing each other.

    Re: windows 10 phone

I loved my 620 and 735, but the bottom line is that there was no app ecosystem around them, and there are apps I need that are only iOS or Android. So I'm on a OnePlus 3 and have been for a few months. In all fairness, it's been a great phone.

If tons of apps are not a priority, windows phone are great, and still get regular updates from MS.
