Hexus Random Meet - Birmingham - 3rd May 2008

My mate owns a bar in Birmingham, on colmore Row in the centre, between New street station and the sea life centre. He's got a members only area which has 4 Xbox 360s networked on 32 inch flast screens. We've had 2 team, 8 player halo matches in the past. He's also got a roof garden, which is v cool for beers.

Anyone like to see if I can swing it?

I might be able to get a pass out for a couple of drinks. (i.e. dispensation from wife and nipper to have a beer, not free beers out of my mate)

Edit: I went to the sealife centre with family the other week. They have an awesome mirror maze in the basement. It's really cool. The half price vouchers seem to be on the back of parking tickets for the Bullring. That's where we got ours from.

How many are we expecting?

One thing to be aware of: the members bar does NOT have draft beer. They do downstairs. Upstairs is bottles, wine, spirits, etc, but just something to be aware of.

Well there will a minimum of 9 (including you) but that doesn't include anyone who will be coming from Hexus so from what has been said so far at least 2 more on top.

We need to sort a time really as we won't be meeting uintil 11/12 and are planning on going to the Sealife centre and doing a couple of other things first.

Can you give us an idea of what you had in mind?

Hey, I'm easy, they open at 12, I'll probably just join you for a couple of pints, so if you want to do sea life first, then beer, or whatever, I'll work around that.

Also, can you let me know if you're planning to stay for dinner by that wednesday (Nando's again!) so we can get an idea of numbers we need to book. Worked out at £11 a head last time which was awesome!

Sorry I've been so quite, mammoth busy here at work. Will try and speak to my mate this weekend to get his agreement. He might even join in. Where we at with numbers? And what time scale would we be looking at, d'ya think?

Hmmm timescale would be:

People arrive between 11-12
Have a drink/lunch
Afternoon go to Sealife centre and anything else people want to do/have time for
Evening Nandos for those who are still there, followed by drinks somewhere, maybe go out somewhere after for those who have places to stay locally.

Meet for drinks and Lunch between 11 and 2, then go to sealife centre.

I would call Nandos at about 6.30pm (paradise forum again I think as it's in the middle)

Then go out on broad street.
