And theres possibly going to be a Vulcan flying, paperwork has been submitted for CAA approval.

Yeah, I remember when I used to live in Bournemouth as kid in the late 80s I used to be able to see an airshow down there (presumably at Hurn). Even remember Concorde flying right over my house as well!

how do you even find out about events like this? i'd love to see some when i go back to uni

Don't think they've done an airshow down there for years. I did say it was in the 80s!

However, I happen to come across this website whilst trying to find out the dates for RIAT this year.

There's one here on 1st June that's usually pretty big. No getting out of working this one though. Going to be on car parking duties. But H&S have stated we need floppy hats and sunglasses, so can at least look slightly cool whilst doing it!

I went to the one in 2002 at Fairford, I think one of the days it was on was supposed to be the Vulcans last flight. I have the souvenir programme right next to me infact.
I went the day after the Italian spectre gunship sort of crashed landed (air pressure drop or something like that when doing a nose dive landing demonstration, front wheel came off).
Was a cool day enjoyed it, was special day too as I got to see the UFO B2 Spirit fly over.

I was there in 03 for the Red Arrows + Stealth Fighter flyby

Going again this year!

(As with DR, it's so close you may as well go)

Also, if you want to catch a bit more action, the 'Arrows usually do a couple of runs around Lechlade beforehand.

Cambridge, so the nearest airshow to me is Duxford.

I sometimes see too many planes flying about the house.
Especially at this time of year, constantly having stuff fly by since we live under a route.
I get sick and tired of all those spits, lanc, etc buzzing the house.
Cannot hear the TV/music, scare the dog when we go for a walk in the fields, its a real pain.
