Hehe, not sure why but the phrase 'wax on, wax off' has come to mind! Ah Mr Myagi

Although that fare was an advanced purchase! Luckily I could claim it back but still.

Erm it was a walk up fare actually Never mind anyhow I'm just a bit shocked at how much Guy's ticket cost unless he choose to travel first class ... Any idea yet on a potential location for a meet??

Oh I wish, then maybe at least I could get a seat, instead of playing the game of turning the luggage shelf into a sort of make shift seat. I dont like that game

I'm about in Reading pretty much now, so as long as my girlfriend isn't coming down to visit I can make either (and it isn't too far to go)

All you sub-26'ers can get the young persons travel card which for £20 will save you a packet if you do a few trips... I used to pay mine back with one trip to Aberystwyth.

Unfortunately I'm too old for it now (although I get good discounts on tickets in the south with my oh-so-expensive loyalty card*)

Eekkk thats mad, you really use trains that much to pay that?? I'd have thought you'd drive everywhere with your work! Unless work pay for your season ticket which would make sense I guess ...

That is what you pay to commute to London, by the time you fuel a car, pay for congestion charge it would be much more than that for one year.

If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?

I do have a railcard *somewhere currently lost in the hidden depths of the house* but it doesnt take anything off the Newbury-Paddington route Well at least not at peak times. However it did pretty much pay for itself on a trip to Wales once.

We don't do meets at peak times!

And yes, the congestion charge is £8 a day, and add petrol and servicing onto that it would cost more. It's just not viable, that's why people don't do it.

And no, Work don't pay my season ticket, they give me a loan which makes it cheaper... still £248 per month though.

    Per month I spend:

    £248 - Train
    £47 - Parking
    £60 - Oyster
    £50 - petrol

    £405 on getting to work...

Back in the land of the living now

I voted for both dates, but really I have no idea if I'm going to here for either at the moment.

I'll try and make what I can. I don't mind where. Usual deal applies to me

I have to change my vote to just the 16th (my team at work are going to San Fransisco start of August and i'm invited )

    Cool, I'm about wokingham road

It's nice, a little weird with the one way system, the parking in town is terrible (I pretty much only saw decent parking at the Oracle), but the public transport is great, if I got a bus to the train station I could then get a free one to Thames Valley Business Park

Fair enough, yeah it takes years to get used to the one way system! At least your the right side of the river, and dont have to que forever to get over Caversham bridge! For parking try the Riverside car park, (next to the Oracle), or the Broadstreet Mall, its slightly cheaper and theres a much better chance ul get a space, only downside is its slightly longer to walk back to the high street, but were only talking 5 mins here! I dont have much experience with the buses, but the trains arent too bad, and Readings a major main line station.
