    Chrome....

So I tried Chrome on the PC, and I hated it.. I don't know why, it just felt wrong tbh, and didn't do what I wanted it to do, despite tweaking around. Here's the thing though - as a MOBILE browser, I'm finding it completely the opposite - it's great! So why the hell don't I get on with it on the PC?

    Re: Chrome....

There are two things I miss about Opera:

Speed Dial - the ability to have as many specific short cut icons on the initial screen as i want. not limited to the eight most common ones that Chrome constantly reorganises.

find on page - Ctrl+F is a pain. I liked just hitting '/' and typing, made searching on the page a dream. Google does search, why can't they make searching on a page really easy too?

edit actually, make that three things, I like the waste bin for closed tabs in Opera too.

I just find Chrome to be faster and more compatible and more stable than Opera was.

Yeah, you used to be able to manually arrange them to your own liking and they wouldn't drop off. But Google disabled that ability back in Chrome 15 or whatever it was. Much to my annoyance.

Indeed, this is a weird one, too. Chrome on Linux is rather Gnome centric, and default search behaviour on Gnome (or even Linux utilities in general) is to start searching after '/'.

But, the built-in translation system is awesome. I still haven't found an add-in for Firefox which is half as good.

    Re: Chrome....

A charming new Linux Chrome bug, at random invocations, flash videos skip randomly. And not a kinda move from one timeline point to the next.. a kinda compressed blahbluhbahklejadlkf skip forward. Really annoying. Especially since Adobe isn't developing the standard nsplugin build of flash on Linux anymore (not that they did much with it to date anyway), so I'm pretty much beholden to Google's own Chrome package for flash on Linux.

    Re: Chrome....

I absolutely love it, to the point where I might even consider getting one of those new ARM Chromebooks. I was a big FF fan, but it ran like a fat lame dog sometimes and the constant extension management was a drag. The only annoyance I have Chrome is that it seems to forget my credentials every week or so, and forces me to log in again. Have blown away my profile several times which helps a little but the issue keeps coming back.

    Re: Chrome....

I tried Chrome and hated it. I built my first PC a few months later and decided to give Chrome a second chance. I promised myself to give it at least a week before deciding it was no good. 12 months on I am still loving it second time around.

Chrome is amazing, so much better than FF/IE. Not really sure why anyone would hate it.

    Have you tried Youtube Options?

I primarily use it to make all the comments disappear, but it can also do a variety of things, ads included.

    Re: Chrome....

It took me a long time to shift from firefox to chrome - something about it didn't feel quite right. Now it's my main browser for some time.. and, ironically, a recent attempt to switch back to firefox (I prefer open source, and at least limiting how easy it is or google to know everything about me) hasn't worked - it just seems outdated going back. Safari on OSX is very chrome-like now too, since mountain lion

    Re: Chrome....

I think you just need to give it time, it takes a bit of adjusting but once you go Chrome you don't go back!
